PART 1 - Constitution of the High Court of Lagos State
1. Establishment of the High Court
There shall be established a High Court of Justice for Lagos State, and the name of such court shall be the High Court of Lagos State.
2. Constitution of the court
(1) The number of judges of the High Court, in addition to the Chief Judge, shall be such number as may from time to time be appointed in the manner prescribed under Section 271 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999.

(2) The court shall be deemed to be duly constituted notwithstanding any vacancy in the office of Chief Judge or of any judge.
3. Appointment of Chief Judge and other judges
(1) Any person if duly qualified may be appointed as Chief Judge of Lagos State or other judge of the High Court in the manner prescribed by section 271 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 and if the office is vacant, or the office holder is unable to perform the functions of the office, then any qualified person may be appointed in an acting capacity in the manner prescribed by the Constitution.

(2) A person holding office under this section shall vacate his office on attaining the age of 65 years and in accordance with section 291 (2) of the Constitution. [L.S.L.N. No. 7 of 2001.]
(3) Subject to the provisions of this section, any person so appointed to such office may be removed as the case may be only in the manner prescribed by section 292 of the Constitution.
