OPINION ON THE RULING OF COURT ON CONVICTION FOR CONTEMPT
Facts:
In the course of the pre-trial at the Governorship election Tribunal of Taraba State. Learned Counsel to the Petitioner Chief Strong Head SAN applied for interrogatories to be served on 1st Respondents, the incumbent Governor of the State, however, the application was refused by the Tribunal. Petitioners Counsel, in open court accused the tribunal for being biased in favour of the 1st Respondent. He further argued that the learned justices of the tribunal should all resign from office as they were no longer competent to give fair hearing to the petitioner. The tribunal has however decided to commit him for contempt and refer his case to the Legal Practitioner's Disciplinary Committee.
