An Act to establish the Directorate of Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructures for the mobilisation of rural communities and the development of the rural areas in Nigeria; and to charge the Directorate with diverse functions directed towards the improvement of the quality of the life in the rural areas.

1. Establishment of the Directorate of Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructures

There is hereby established a body to be known as the Directorate of Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructures (in this Act referred to as “the Directorate”) which shall have the functions specified in this Act.

2. Board of the Directorate

3. Liaison with other bodies

The Directorate shall liaise with Federal Government Ministries and agencies, Integrated Rural Development Authorities, State Governments, local governments and local communities; and also co-operate with all other private and public organisations, institutions, enterprises and individuals concerned with the development of the rural areas.
