OATHS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2016
EXPLANATORY MEMORADUM
This Act amends the Oaths Act Cap. 01, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 to expressly mention in the Act all superior courts o records established after the Act came into force in 1963 among the list of courts authorized by the Act to administer Oats or Affirmation.

Amendment of Cap. 01 LFN, 2004
1. The Oaths Act Cap. 01, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 (in this Act referred to as "the Principal Act") is amended as set out in this Act.
Amendment of section 10
2. Section 10 (1) of the Principal Act is amended by substituting for the words, "and any judge of the Federal High Court", in line 2, the words, "the Chief judge and Judges of the Federal High Court, the President and Judges of the National Industrial Court, the Chief Judge and Judges of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the Chief Judge and Judges of a State High Court, the Grand Kadi and Kadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the President and Judges of the Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the Grand Kadis and Kadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal of a State, the President and Judges of the Customary Court of Appeal of a State.
