An Act to authorise the taking of statistics from time to time and to provide for the
collection, compilation, analysis and publication of statistical information, and to
provide for other matters connected thereto.

PART I
Introductory
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Statistics Act.
Interpretation
In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires-
“Minister” means the Minister charged with responsibility for matters relating to sta-
tistics;
“Statistician” means the Federal Government Statistician;
“statistics” means information in connection with or incidental to all or any of the
matters specified in the First Schedule.

The provisions of this Part shall apply to statistics relating to-
