PETITION
THE PETITION OF DR IME OBONG ASANGE WHOSE IS SUBSCRIBED.
- The petitioner, Dr. Ime Obong of Obi Local Government Area was a candidate in the above Governorship Election and was validly nominated by his political party, Reigning Party of Nigeria (RPN)
- The Petitioner states that the election was held on the 17th of April, 2015 and the following notes were score:

Dr. Essien Obong Essien was declared elected as Governor of Cross Rivers and the certificate of return issued by the 3rd Respondent.
- GROUNDS ON WHICH PETITION IS BROUGHT
The Petitioner states that the ground on which the petition is brought is that the 1st respondent is not qualified to contest the election.
- PARTICULARS IN SUPPORT OF THE GROUNDS
- The 1st Respondent was under aged at the time of the election.
- The 1st Respondent is an ex-convict having been convicted of criminal breach of trust by the High Court of Cross Rivers State, Calabar on August 2009.
- The 1st Respondent has not acquired the prescribed educational certificates to qualify him for the election.
5. PRAYERS SOUGHT:
The Petitioner prays the Honourable tribunal for:
- A DECLARATION that the 1st Respondent is incompetent to contest the Governorship election of Cross River State in the Election of April 17th, 2015.
- A DECLARATION that the return of the 1st Respondent as Governor of Cross River State by the 3rd Respondent in the election held on 17th April 2015 is null and void.
- AN ORDER for rerun election.
